As I couldn't sleep, perhaps this rather useless list would help me; not to mention add a little variation to this blog.
The list is made up of my own personal favourites, some of the songs are pretty old and obscure but do give them a listen and I do hope that you will enjoy them as much as I do.
At #5, Southern rock band The Blues Traveler (yup, that's how they spelled it alright) with "Run-Around" from their 1994 album "four".
At #4, the Irish siblings The Corrs with "Runaway" from their 1997 (yes it was that long ago...) album "Talk On Corners". Here's a beautiful unplugged version.
At #3, this song needs no introduction - dedicated to all runaway children everywhere and karaoke favourite- "Runaway Train", a classic from their 1993's "Grave Dancers Union" album. Here's the iconic video.
At #2, Collective Soul used to be one of my favorite bands of the late 90s, not really sure though if they are still around. This song simply titled "Run" was not really one of their biggest hits and was taken from the 1999 album "Dosage". Apologies for the grainy video, as there are no better quality video of this song on YouTube.
And finally at #1, listening to this song for the first time, I used to wonder why i couldn't find this song in The Beatles' catalogue. Only much later on I found out the band who performed this song was actually a side project/spin off by Paul McCartney and his band Wings. This is from their 1973 album of the same name "Band On The Run".
That's it folks and hope that you've enjoyed them. Next edition : My Top 5 Favourite Songs with tthe word "Baby" in the title. That should be much easier, I guess....
